This was an amazing story. I was definitely captivated and really could feel what was going on in the father’s heart. Mr. Smith you did a great job, thanks for being a great teacher and an amazing writer.

I remember when this tragedy happened. I looked up the story after seeing in the Louisiana Tech magazine that it had won an award. The scene with Anh and the catfish is extremely powerful. Wow!

“Dailies” is brilliantly done. Smith writes with such sensitivity and feeling that the reader feels the emotions and experiences are his own. The story is beautiful and deeply moving.

“Dailies” is a brilliant story told with such sensitivity and feeling that the reader feels he is drawn into the experience as if it were his own. Genaro Ky Ly Smith well deserves the 2007 Literary Awards Program Second Place Winner he received for this beautiful piece.
