Publicity Services from SFWP

SFWP founder Andrew Gifford is available to assist other like-minded presses and authors promote their work.

Ten years ago, I founded the Santa Fe Writers Project, growing from a grassroots effort to recognize and award excellence in writing to an internationally distributed, award-winning publisher within a few years.

I’ve worked for the Associated Press as a wires editor, Oxford Intelligence as a business writer, and am currently the marketing consultant for Alan Squire Press. For both SFWP and Alan Squire, I’ve managed all promotional campaigns, including:

  • Gaining authors a wider audience through NPR, as well as through publications ranging from Entertainment Weekly to The New Yorker
  • Planning author tours and festival events (in one case, SFWP landed a five-figure literary grant to fund a tour)
  • Directing mailing campaigns to individuals, bookbuyers, and media sources
  • Developing social networking and webpage presences
  • Working with potential review outlets both online and in print

I cater to small presses and independent authors, and charge accordingly. For more details, please continue on to the next page, where I discuss the structure of an average campaign as well as my personal philosophy developed over the last six years of publishing.
